Job Description

Currently recruiting a Registered Nurse (RN) Cardiovascular Operating Room to work in Brooksville, Florida in a 280-bed facility. Having recently added a new obstetrics program the hospital is one of the area s largest private employers. It offers Hernando County s only comprehensive cardiovascular surgery program and one of the most advanced robotic assisted surgical systems. The hospital launched GME a few years ago which continues to expand and now includes anesthesiology, emergency medicine, family medicine, geriatrics, internal medicine podiatry and transitional year programs.

Job Responsibilities of the CVOR RN:
  • The RN is responsible for the observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care; health teaching and counseling of the ill, injured, or infirm; and the promotion of wellness, maintenance of health, and prevention of illness of others.
  • Administers medications and treatments as prescribed or authorized by a duly licensed practitioner authorized by the laws of this state to prescribe such medications and treatments.
Job Qualifications of the CVOR RN:
  • Nursing Diploma or ASN; BSN preferred.
  • Licensing/Certifications
  • Current FL RN license required or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 90 days of hire.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification from the American Red Cross (HCA chosen provider) OR American Heart Association required.
  • Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred - required within 6 months of hire.
  • Current CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) certification preferred - required within 6 months of certification eligibility.
  • Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
  • Prior Operating Room nursing experience preferred. Prior Open Heart Surgery experience highly desired.
  • Lifting 50 lbs. Maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills.
  • 14 Call rotations per month.
Compensation of the CVOR RN:
  • Salary Range: $30 $42 depending on experience.
  • Differentials: Nights if on call 4+ hours $4.50, Weekends if on call 4+ hours $1.50
  • National Cert: CNOR $1.50
  • On Call: $4, call back time and a half.
  • Sign On: $10K with 2-year commitment $15K with 3 year commitment.
  • Relocation: Case by case.
  • Matching 401(k) contributions ranging from 3-9%.
