Job Description

Psychometrist to work in the Intrepid Spirit Concussion Recovery Center/TBI Clinic under Behavioral Health Services, at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune, Jacksonville, NC, providing care to Active Duty heroes and their families. Psychometrist full-time hours are Mon - Fri, between 6AM - 8PM.

DUTIES OF THE PSYCHOMETRIST:
  • Technically direct, escort, and/or act as a therapeutic participant in patient activities both on and off the clinic.
  • Provide care for patients utilizing proper infection control and safety techniques as planned and/or ordered.
  • Document per clinic policy and notifies the neuropsychologist in charge of any abnormal or unusual findings in a timely manner.
  • Document patient-care using proper terminology and in accordance with unit policy
  • Perform basic assessment procedures, including administration and scoring of standardized neuropsychological testing.
QUALIFICATIONS OF THE PSYCHOMETRIST:
  • Three letters of recommendation written within the last two years attesting to the health care worker s clinical skills. At least one letter must be from a physician, psychologist, or nurse who has personally observed and evaluated the health care worker and who can attest to the health care worker s clinical competence in the care of patients. The other letters may be from a clinic or hospital administrator, physician, psychologist or nurse who has personal knowledge of the health care worker s patient care skills in a similar clinical environment. Reference letters shall attest to the health care worker s communication skills and ability to relate to patients as well as professional and other interpersonal skills among staff members and must include name, title, telephone number, date of reference, address and signature of the individual providing reference.
AND
  • Possess one of the following:
    • Possess a current certification as a Psychometrist by the National Association of Psychometrists or Board of Certified Psychometrists.
OR
  • Possess a Master' s degree in Psychology, Sociology, or in a behavioral science related field and have 1 year experience in the performance of neuropsychological testing and test scoring within the preceding 24 months.
  • Neuropsychological tests that the Psychometrist should have experience in both administration and scoring include the Wechsler Adult intelligence Scale-fourth edition (WAIS-IV); Wechsler Memory Scale-fourth edition (WMS-IV); California Verbal Learning Test-second edition (CVLT-II); Trailmaking Test; Grooved Pegboard Test; Test of Memory and Malingering (TOMM); and Wisconsin Card Sorting Test.
OR
  • Possess a Bachelor' s Degree in Psychology, Sociology, or in a behavioral science related field and have three years of experience in the performance of neuropsychological testing and test scoring within the preceding 36 months. Wechsler Adult intelligence Scale-fourth edition (WAIS-IV) or current; Wechsler Memory Scale-fourth edition (WMS-IV) or current; California Verbal Learning Test-second edition (CVLT-II); Trailmaking Test; Grooved Pegboard Test; Test of Memory and Malingering (TOMM); and Wisconsin Card Sorting Test.
  • Neuropsychological tests that the Psychometrist should have experience in both administration and scoring include the Wechsler Adult intelligence Scale-fourth edition (WAIS-IV); Wechsler Memory Scale-fourth edition (WMS-IV); California Verbal Learning Test-second edition (CVLT-II); Trailmaking Test; Grooved Pegboard Test;
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (for access to Gov' t computer systems)
