Job Description


Currently recruiting a Pharmacy Technician to work in the Outpatient Pharmacy at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune, Jacksonville, NC, providing medical care for Active Duty military heroes, their family members, and retirees. The Pharmacy Technician position is full-time, Sunday through Saturday, including holidays, between the hours 6: 30AM and 11: 30 PM, with full benefits and including 17 days of paid vacation & sick leave, plus paid 10 federal holidays. The Pharmacy Technician shall rotate the provision of services on evenings, weekends, and the day of observance of federal holiday.

DUTIES OF THE PHARMACY TECHNICIAN INCLUDE:
  • Perform a full range of pharmacy technician procedures.
  • Perform pharmaceutical dispensing duties including filling new outpatient prescriptions, refilling prescriptions, and entering orders into databases.
  • Perform information consultation duties including supporting new and refill prescriptions, supporting patient requests, supporting physician s requests, monitoring for drug interactions, and reporting adverse drug reactions.
  • Perform quality improvement duties including performing drug storage inspection, reviewing expired supplies, and producing error and workload reports and documentation.
  • Perform supply process duties including placing new orders, stocking/restocking shelves, inventory maintenance, producing not in stock reports.

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE PHARMACY TECHNICIAN:
  • Minimum 1 year of experience (after graduation) within the last 3 years working in an busy outpatient pharmacy
  • Working knowledge of pharmacy computer system
  • Graduate from a formal pharmacy technician program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) or a formal pharmacy technician program (i.E., technical, hospital, or retail-based program) or a formal medical services training program of the United States Military.
  • Certification: Certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
  • U.S. Citizen (for access to Government computer systems)
