Job Description


Currently recruiting a Benefits Administrator in Gaithersburg, Maryland, to join our home office team and provide day-to-day benefits administration services to employees, vendors, managers, payroll, accounting, and human resources departments. Benefits Administrator candidates with experience in government contracts, staffing, or Kronos Workforce Ready are invited to highlight those qualifications on their resume.



RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE BENEFITS ADMINISTRATOR INCLUDE:
  • Comply with Federal and State legal requirements by keeping abreast of existing and new benefits-related requirements, utilizing qualified opinions/guidance (benefits reps, ben broker, reference websites). Enforce adherence to legal requirements, advise management on needed actions for compliance.
  • Notify new hires and newly eligible employees of Company benefits options within the required time frame. Reach out to ensure understanding of benefits options, mandatory benefits enrollment. Provides applicable forms and completion instructions.
  • Provides guidance to employees seeking assistance with specific medical issues, leave options and disability coverage. Provide assistance with disability, workers compensation and medical claim forms and explains Company leave requirements.
  • Enter benefits enrollments, terminations and changes per qualifying events in HRIS database. Confirms that the carrier connections files are flowing accurately from ADP and alerts management when errors occur.
  • Works with project managers to respond to employee requests for leave of absence and in making determinations as to legal requirements for certain types of leave such as FMLA, ADA accommodated leave, and leave allowances required by individual State laws.
  • Assists with preparation of benefits related reporting and recordkeeping including 401(k) audits, annual health and welfare and 401(k) forms 5500, non-discrimination testing, State and Federal reporting.


  • QUALIFICATIONS OF THE BENEFITS ADMINISTRATOR INCLUDE:BA with 2 years of benefits experience OR an Associate s degree with 4 years of benefits experience. Diploma with 5 years of directly related benefits experience will be considered.
  • Familiarity with staffing, healthcare, or the federal contracting highly desirable.
